So when the Breakfast team received a Big Favour plea from East Coast Radio's 'African Story Magic' podcast sensation Dr Gcina Mhlophe, they had to respond.
Darren Maule and Sky Tshabalala made the call to Mam' Gcina to talk about World Book Day and how The Big Favour could help:
In her podcast on ECR, Dr Gcina Mhlophe shares many of the tales you grew up with plus new stories, in order to keep the magic of African storytelling alive for new generations.
She mentioned to Darren and Sky how much she loves the fact that kids in this day and age are able to read and write in their schools.

There is an event she will be hosting on World Book Day to which she needs funding for.
The Big Favour came together to support Mam' Gcina and decided to contribute R10,000 worth of books.
This will be used to distribute to kids as well as young adults for them to read on World Book Day. We honour Dr Gcina Mhlophe and her efforts to care for kids.
You can catch her in the next brand new episode of her podcast found on East Coast Radio, titled: Lungile, the most beautiful girl / ULungile, intombi enhle kunazo zonke.
