Here are my ten pieces of essential advice for today's youth:
Let's recap:
- Learn how to cook and garden. If nothing else, it will save you a lot of money.
- Love everyone. Don't reserve all your love for one or two people, spread the love even to those you don't like. If only some of it is reciprocated, then you will still always be loved.
- Some adults are quite simple, basic - stupid. The trick is; don't tell them, they don't know and don't want to know.
- Remember, religion is like genitalia - everyone has one. You can take it out when you are alone at home and wave it around like you just don't care but never take it out in public, and never force it down other people's throats.
- Never lie - unless she asks; "Do I look fat in this"... then lie. Lie and walk away. It's a trap, escape! Get outta there man!
- The climate and ecosystem are stressed and could probably collapse in your lifetime, my bad, that's all on us. Good luck with that.
- Never be holding your cat when you switch on a blender.
- Nothing is one or the other. Not right or wrong, black or white, conservative or liberal, masculine-feminine, capitalist or socialist, Jedi or Sith. Rey and Kylo Ren will help you through this in time... everything is grey, everything is on a spectrum.
- Eat fibre, every day - trust me, you'll thank me when you're older. You don't wanna be sitting on the loo and have enough time to read the entire Harry Potter and the Wash Chamber of Secrets... or Harry Potter and the Passing of the Stone.
- "Supersize" is a suggestion, not a command.
