Dalai Lama 'sorry' for 'suck my tongue' viral video
The spiritual leader is in hot water over viral video.
The last couple days have rocked the spiritual leader's image as a moral leader.
According to IOL, The Dalai Lama recently issued an apology to a young Australian boy and his family, following a video of the spiritual leader telling the boy to “suck his tongue” went viral.

Even though the video was taken in 2015 during a visit by the Dalai Lama to Australia, it's now made it's way onto social media/
In the video, the young boy, who had been invited to the stage to ask the Dalai Lama a question, can be seen standing in front of the spiritual leader. The Dalai Lama then tells the boy to “suck my tongue.”
The video has left many people shocked.
The clip was widely shared on social media, leading to an outcry from many who found the Dalai Lama’s comment inappropriate.
The Dalai Lama initially defended his comments, saying they were said in jest, but recently the spiritual leader has issued an apology to the boy and his family.

In a statement, the Dalai Lama was “deeply sorry” for the incident. "I had not intended to hurt or offend anyone, and I have the upmost respect for the people of Australia,” he said.
He added that he hoped the incident would be seen as an example of how we can all learn to come together peacefully and respectfully.

The apology from the Dalai Lama has been welcomed by many, although some have argued that the apology should have come sooner.
Regardless, the incident has sparked a conversation about appropriate behaviour, and the need to respect people regardless of age, gender, or background.
