Inspections are underway at two Durban hospitals affected by yesterday’s storm.
Considerable damage was done to both King Edward and Prince Mshiyeni hospitals.
The first inspection was done at King Edward Hospital.
The inspection team including Health MEC Dr Sibongiseni Dhlomo, Human Settlement MEC, Ravi Pillay, eThekwini mayor Zandile Gumede and interim COGTA MEC, Weziwe Thusi, were led by hospital management around the facility.
They explained how surgeries had to come to a complete stop yesterday. The hospital is in the process of making alternative arrangements to get procedures underway again.
