Local Government authorities called a press briefing in Durban this afternoon - urging all communities in the uMkhanyakude and Zululand districts to take all possible alerts and warnings seriously.
MEC Nomusa Dube-Ncube says all residents in northern KZN and the rest of the province must be aware of and prepared for Dineo.
She says that all disaster centres have been placed on high alert - adding that a joint operations centre has been established within the uMkhanyakude district.

She's appealed to people living in the extreme parts of northern KZN to prepare themselves for the storm.
The MEC says this means being ready to evacuate the area - if asked to do so.
Officials are warning of the possibility of high seas, flooding, wet roads and reduced visibility while driving - as well as damage to small bridges and houses.
