Dineo gains momentum, but won't affect Durban
Updated | By Shaun Ryan
Tropical storm Dineo is now nearing the Mozambican shore.
The storm is expected to make landfall near Inhambane today. Dineo will then intensify further to a category 1 tropical cyclone.

Heavy rains, strong winds and rough seas are forecast for the southern Mozambique coastline.
The SA Weather Service says the storm will then move towards the north-eastern parts of KZN, Mpumalanga and Limpopo.
Forecaster Aslam Sardiwalla says some areas in our province - including Kosi Bay, Jozini, Hluhluwe, Makhathini and the Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park - will begin to feel the effects from tomorrow.
"These could also result in a bit of significant rainfall on that far northern coastline, as well as the far northern interior. Gale force winds are very likely in that area as well - with a bit of rough sea conditions," he said.

He says areas further south - including Durban will not experience weather conditions ushered in by Dineo.
"Durban and the south coast of KZN will not be affected directly by the tropical cycle. We are, however, expecting some isolated showers and thundershowers over the weekend - but it has nothing to do with the tropical cyclone; it's our own normal systems," he said.
