Big Favour: Boy's Conference KwaMashu gets much needed financial boost
Updated | By Darren, Keri and Sky
The Big Favour has partnered with Spring Lights Gas, who would like to donate funds to entrepreneurs who have been affected by COVID-19, the riots, and floods.
Name: Linda Buthelezi
Sponsor: Mzi Tyhokolo, Group CEO at SLG (Pty) Ltd (Spring Lights Gas)
Story:
Kasi to Kasi Boy's Conference (NPO) I am organizing a Boy's conference KwaMashu, where I have invited respectable males to speak to our young Boys between the ages of 12 to 19 years old.
These would be topics like, what it means to be a Boy, how to treat the other gender, how to handle being hurt as a man, what it means to become a father/husband, etc.

The reason I would like to have these conferences for our boys is the way our communities are loosing youngsters, to drug abuse, alcohol and suicide, our boys feel neglected and the gist of all this.
I believe is lack of communication to our kids.
As a single mother, I don't know what it means to be a boy or a man, so how do I teach my son something I have never experienced our boys do not know who to turn to.
We now have very rare families with stable fathers and there is a lot of gender violence.
I believe that if we can speak to our young boys we can change the stigma of having single parents families and bring back the importance of family and respect.
Our young Boys need to get advise from matured and respectable father figures.

I would like a Big Favour to be assisted with, the refreshments I will be giving to the boys on the day. Next would be microphone and speakers.
I will be doing the conferences every location and these will be useful every time.
About 100 Chairs, a stage, a tent to accommodate 500 kids, motivational speakers to add on to my list of community leaders I have asked to speak on the day is set out for the 7 January 2023 at KwaMashu Grounds.
Your assistance will be much appreciated.
