State prosecutor, Ishara Sewnarayan asked for the matter to be postponed until December for a pre-trial conference.

Sewnarayan told the court during a previous appearance that the State had concluded its first interview with the child and would be interviewing her again.

The prosecution intends to call doctors to testify and will also produce video footage.

The mother and boyfriend were arrested earlier this year after the video surfaced online.

The woman's boyfriend, who allegedly filmed the incident, is accused of punching the child before throwing her against a cabinet moments before the attack shown in the clip.

Custody of the now 5-year-old girl was granted to her father last month.

As part of their bail conditions, the accused are not allowed to see her.
