According to a study we've been drinking water all wrong

A new study says that as humans, we are drinking water all wrong

If you're like me, you drink water all time time because we're constantly being told we need to up our water intake. Well a new study has said that we're drinking water all wrong.


Medical News Today reported that a new study published in "Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences" says that as humans, we have lost our basic instinct.

The researchers asked participants to rate the level of effort it took to swallow water (weird right) under two conditions : when they were naturally thirsty, and when they were properly hydrated. They found that the participants found it easier to swallow when they were thirsty.


Associate Professor Farrell says "This was compatible with our notion that the swallowing reflex becomes inhibited once enough water has been drunk."


They also added that we need to be careful that we don't over-hydrate, so that we don't lose essential nutrients. Trying to find the perfect balance is key.
