Observant driver escapes hijacking in Shallcross
This vigilant Durban driver escaped a potentially life-threatening hijacking thanks to quick thinking.
Oh my word! How terrifying is this footage?!
A Durban driver was caught on film pulling up to his driveway gate in Shallcross on Tuesday night. In a split second, he saw a car approach and sensed something was suspicious. Once he spotted the car, he instantly kicked in reverse and drove away.

The would-be hijackers jumped out of the car armed and aimed their guns to shoot. They then hurried into their getaway car and drove off.

This situation could have ended so differently had his man not had space to move and hadn't trusted his instinct.
