Fourteen-year-old Klara Göttert's body was found last night at the Northgate Mall, ending a frantic search after she did not return home.

She was last seen as she left for school yesterday morning. Later her mother reported her missing.

There is speculation on how the girl died. Police have so far only said she fell. But her mother and aunt have said on social media that she jumped from the top of the building.

The police's Mashadi Selepe says they are trying to figure out how she died.

"According to the information that we received, a high school girl jumped from the top of the building in the Northgate Mall and we're investigating because currently we're not sure if it was suicide or what happened. Investigations will reveal the real cause [of death]" she said.
