Durban is 'Ready to Inspire'
Updated | By Portia Cele
Campaigning under the slogan 'Ready to Inspire', the event is expected to bring an estimated R20-billion into the local economy.
Durban launched its bid in March as the only city that proposed to host the sporting event.
The final decision was announced this morning at the Federation's general assembly in Auckland, New Zealand.
City officials, Durban residents and pupils gathered at George Campbell School of Technology ahead of the announcement this morning.

The hashtags #ReadytoInspire and #Durban2022 soon began trending on Twitter with users wishing the city well.
The Games will open on July 18, 2022 coinciding with Mandela Day.
The multi-sport event has taken place every four years since 1930 and will run for 12 days.
