Adam Sandler spotted in Cape Town

Hollywood funnyman Adam Sandler is in Cape Town. He and his family were spotted tucking into burgers at Hudson’s Burger Joint, a trendy restaurant in Kloof Street, over the weekend. 

 

46-year-old Adam had been taking a break from shooting his latest film, a romantic comedy called Blended, which sees him once again team up with Drew Barrymore.

 

Sandler took his wife, Jackie and little daughters, Sadie and Sunny as well as members of his crew for lunch on Saturday. The restaurant’s manager, Andrew East, has told City Press that Sandler was really cool and friendly.

 

“People went crazy. Adam was friendly and stood up to shake people’s hands. Some of his companions were protective and asked patrons to respect his privacy.”

38-year-old Drew Barrymore was also spotted in Cape Town recently during her break from filming. She was seen taking a hot yoga class in Sea Point.

 

Blended sees Drew and Adam teaming up again after their success with The Wedding Singer and 50 First Dates.

 

In Blended, the pair portray single parents who end up stuck at a family resort with their children from previous marriages after a lousy first date. Teen star Bella Thorne, best known for her role as CeCe Jones in Disney Channel’s Shake it Up, plays Barrymore’s daughter.

 

Most of the filming has been taking place at Sun City over the past two months.
