KZN cop arrested, charged with corruption
Updated | By Lucky Khanyile
A KZN cop accused of corruption and defeating ends of justice will remain at work until an internal process relating to his alleged conduct is complete.
Wilfred Mtshali was arrested yesterday and appeared in the Dundee Magistrate's Court on the same day - where he was granted R2 000 bail.
Mtshali was arrested by the Hawks for allegedly demanding a R10 000 bribe from a prominent businesswoman.

According to a statement by the Hawks, the 54-year-old promised the woman that a case she had opened at the Dundee Police Station earlier this year would be made a priority in exchange for cash.
The police's Thulani Zwane says an internal investigation will be conducted to determine whether the police officer will be suspended or not.
"An internal investigation will be conducted and see whether any departmental steps can be taken against the man. And through this investigation it can be determined whether this member can be suspended or not," he said.
