Elections 2016: Thabo Mbeki to make his mark

Only the ANC's mayoral candidate for Johannesburg Parks Tau has so far arrived for a meeting with former President Thabo Mbeki.
The party's candidates for Tshwane and Ekurhuleni are also expected at the Mbeki home in Houghton.
This after the EFF leadership met with Mbeki yesterday.

Tau introduced the ward's ANC candidate to the former president.
Mbeki wished her well confirming that he will be voting tomorrow but said who he will put his cross next to remains a secret.
''The people of South Africa should give their own view about how they want the municipalities to be governed and who should govern them. I think it's very, very important that we get a big turnout that would be important.
''Even for the stability of municipalities, the legitimacy of those elected depends in part, on the participation of the population in that process. I'm really hoping that would happen," he said.
