H&M apologises for 'racial' Twitter comments
Updated | By ECR Newswatch
International clothing retailer H&M has issued an apology after receiving criticism for racially sensitive comments posted on their Twitter feed.
Following the launch their first South African outlet in Cape Town, a blogger tweeted that the store should attempt to appeal to all demographic groups, citing a lack of black models in their in-store advertisements.
In a tweeted reply, H&M said 'it is essential for us to convey a positive image'.
The clothing company has since apologised, saying they did not mean to imply that positivity is linked to a specifc race group and adding that the brand 'embraces all people regardless of ethnic background, gender or culture,".
