AfriForum, Solidarity to take quota case to international sports bodies
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
Apart from a South African court case, civil rights group AfriForum and Trade union Solidarity, will be taking their case to deal with racial quotas and alleged government interference in sport to international sporting federations.
The Sports Minister recently suspended the privileges of Athletics SA, SA Rugby, Cricket SA and Netball SA from bidding for international tournaments due to what he termed a lack of transformation.

Yesterday, the two organisations announced legal plans in response to this decision.
Afriforum's Kallie Kriel says they've informed the Ministry of Sport.
''We have already written to the Ministry of Sport. We have asked them to withdraw the ban that they have placed on the major sport federations. If they don't do so then we will go ahead with our court case,'' he said.
