Christmas gift guide for “him” and “her”
Updated | By Tamlyn Canham
Not sure what to get your significant
other? We have you covered!
Whether you have just started dating or been married for years, buying a gift for your partner is not always easy.
Yes, you know what they like, but there are only so many times you can buy the same thing in different shapes and colours.
Buying gifts for women is easy, right? Just buy her something pretty, chocolate, and flowers?
Wrong! Just like men probably don’t always want to get cologne or a shaver as a present.
Here are some ideas to make your life easier:
For Him
Shoes: Everyone with feet needs shoes, including your partner. This is one present that is likely to get a smile rather than a frown. Let your creativity and knowledge of your significant other guide you. Get sneakers for the laid-back man, running shows for the gym junkie, or dress shoes for the stylish man.
Technology: You can never go wrong with buying a tech present for your partner. Whether your partner is a techie, or is clueless about technology, there is bound to be something to pique their interest. Wireless earphones, portable chargers or Fitbit fitness trackers are practical gifts he will use on a daily basis. A wifi-enabled coffee maker, the latest Mac products, or video game console are for serious tech junkies. They cost a fair bit of money, so you will need to deep dig into your pocket.
Sunglasses: Sunglasses not only
protect your eyes from the sun’s rays, but they are the perfect accessory for every
outfit. Whether your partner loves wearing suits, wears flip flops and beach
shorts, a pair of Ray-Ban Aviator or Dolce & Gabbana sunglasses will elevate
his look.
For Her
Rose gold everything: Rose gold is the new pink! Whether it is rose gold jewellery, a phone case or sunglasses, she is sure to love it – unless she is not a big fan of ‘girlie’ things. In that case, you might want to try the aforementioned in her favourite colour or something neutral.
Coffee table books: There is a book out there for just about every woman. If she loves fashion try ‘Front Roe’ by Louis Roe, health nuts will enjoy Jessica Sepel’s ‘The Healthy Life’, while budding entrepreneurs can learn a thing or two from Sophia Amoruso’s ‘#GirlBoss’.
Instant digital camera: Whether she loves taking selfies or capturing special family moments, an instant digital camera is sure to help capture beautiful memories – especially on Christmas morning.
